I'm proud of the Lithuanian people, of the people who guarded the tower, and of the members of my family, who, hearing that people were being murdered by the auxiliary building of the television below, and who had time to decide, didn't withdraw from the tower and chose death and other pain. I didn't see one person withdraw from the ranks. On the contrary - the ranks grew even stronger because people ran up from below. They can murder us, but no one will defeat us!
