People were standing shoulder to shoulder around the entire television tower. Armored vehicles and tanks began to surround them. Then, while Bučelytė (the announcer) was still speaking on the television screen, Soviet military vehicles moved closer. There were only about 5 meters left between them and the people... Then they began to shoot into the air at the tower. Yet the amazing thing was that people didn't give in to panic. One man jumped out of the crowd and shouted something to the soldiers. I didn't see what happened to him -suddenly I felt a blow to my head and my eyes were flooded with blood. Later everything was like a dream. Two strangers led me through an opening in the fence. They took me to the hospital in their car. The doctors removed a plastic fragment from my head...
