… I was together with Rudokas, Burdulis, Maročkinas and Renata Keršienė. Maročkinas had a car, so he took everyone to the store „Merkurijus". We all ran together to the tower. I stayed with Renata at the central entrance and the others ran to the tower. I heard my friend's voice shouting for us to come over by them. We jumped over the fence and ended up right by the tower itself. We stood holding hands in the first row. I watched as armored vehicles came from the direction of Lazdynai, unloaded paratroopers, and began to shoot. Some of the people withdrew, but Renata and I stayed to defend the tower so that they wouldn't be able to get inside. We blocked one window with iron scaffolding. Paratroopers with sticks ran up to us and began to beat people and fire series of shots. I saw four young men fall down. People ran over and carried them away. My clothes were spattered with their blood.
