We were standing on the hill when the first tanks arrived. We got worried when the tanks began to spread smoke. Someone shouted: „Tear gas!", but there was a charred smell. We went down, but no one expected that anything terrible would happen. We chanted: “Lithuania! Lithuania!" and a tank smashed buses with its barrels. Then the tank slowly turned its barrel at us and opened fire. A strong air wave hit us in the legs. Our ears got clogged and our heads began to ring.
The next day in the polyclinic they said that our ear drums had burst.
