„Armed" with Thermoses of coffee and tea, I went to the television tower. There were quite a few people there who were singing and dancing.
Everything happened as quick as lightening - both the concept of time and the feeling of fear disappeared. Confusion grew and a tank began to push the people. I was thrown to the window of the TV tower. We were pushed back further by shooting and blinding searchlights. I went down through a fence on the hill which had been broken by a tank and stood by a house from where you could still see a crowd of people and a Lithuanian flag by the entrance of the tower. The entire time you could hear shooting and shouts for a doctor. The people who were standing around me were crying and repeating: “Villains, murderers!"
